Kilburn Fire

A fire broke out on Kilburn High Road last night next door to the Tricycle theatre.

Indefatigable witnesses took to social media, sharing photos which helped to douse the rumours about the Tricycle theatre being on fire. The blaze was next-door at the Brondesbury Medical Centre including the flats above it.

The issue was a small fire which damaged a kitchen on the first floor of the mixed-use building.

Summary:

Emergency call: 9pm

Fire engines: 6

Firefighters: 35

Evacuated: Around 400 people

Resolved by: 11:10pm

Fire Brigade Crews: West Hampstead, North Kensington, Willesden and Paddington.

The cause: still under investigation.

Earlier in the day the Tricycle theatre retweeted a review about the theatre’s latest show:

’the whole cast dazzles in The House That Will Not Stand’.

Lets hope that the house will continue to stand despite damage from the dazzling fire.
